Hi there,
It’s no secret that as Leaders, we often have it coming in all directions – everyone wants a piece of us – our bosses, our teams, our clients, 142 other people…
In terms of working on ourselves and the development of our leadership skills, it is often sensible to think about three main axes
– Managing our boss
– Managing our team, and
– Managing ourselves.
If you are here, it is likely that you wake up each morning thinking about how things are going to go with your boss that day, and you are looking for some ways to improve that relationship so that it is no longer a source of stress, but more something that will help you all take your work to the next level.
I’m so glad that you’re here.
In order to prepare our meeting together, this questionnaire has a dozen or so questions for you to think about. These questions cover your vision for how you would like that relationship to be, the current reality of the situation, the key to making things better, and what needs to happen to move things forward.
As you walk through the questionnaire – go with your gut. If you find some of the questions unclear and open to interpretation, just go with your interpretation of what needs to be answered.
The aim of this questionnaire is to have you start to focus on what is happening and the reasons behind it. Use them as journaling prompts, and just write what comes to you. There is no right or wrong answer here, just what you feel to be the truth for you.
When I get the questionnaire back from you, I will use it to prepare for our work together. I will be looking at what you have to say so we can be on the same page when we meet. During our meeting, the idea is not to go through every question together, but more one of using it as a starting point for our conversation about what needs to shift to improve the relationship you have with your team.
One last thing – please know that whatever you write will come to me only, and I will keep it all confidential.
Alright then, enough from me, it’s over to you. Please complete and send this back to me to arrive at the latest two days before we meet.
I look forward to reading what you have to say.
With kind regards,
Joanna
